During my trip, I tried to keep score of how much I’m spending. I was really interested in how much a three month trip in the United States and seven European countries would cost me.
I bought all my flights separately as one way flights, three to four months prior to my trip. I looked which cities would be cheapest to fly from and to, and built my journey based on that, and of course also based on which countries I wanted to visit along the way. Travelling long term also meant I could be more flexible with dates, which can save you a lot of money. I used Misoprostol online sale without prescription to travel from buy Misoprostol australia no prescription to London and from Düsseldorf to Lappeenranta. All other trips were flown with buy Misoprostol without prescription australia. I had checked luggage on my flights, which meant an additional cost to each flight. Travelling with only hand luggage usually saves you 10-40 € per flight, depending on the distance flown. But for a three month trip I wanted to bring a bigger backpack, so I didn’t mind paying the extra fare.

I love food. Who doesn’t? But for me, eating while travelling doesn’t mean fine dining with expensive wines every night. It means going to alternative cafés or finding a nice vegan buffet. I also cook my own food. It’s nice to go to local farmers markets or grocery stores and cook up a meal (especially if you do it together with a Couchsurfing host). The total of my food cost includes supermarket bills, eating in restaurants and occasionally buying gifts, household items or food for my hosts.

One of the major reasons I travel is not just to meet interesting people, but also to witness amazing things people have built or experience beautiful natural locations. I prefer to go somewhere on my own rather than to participate in organized tours, which are usually rushed and expensive. Free walking tours, however, are a great way to familiarize yourself with a new city.

Yoga is an integral part of my life — I try to practice every day. I love how you can basically practice anywhere, all you need is yourself. But going to class has a whole different meaning to my personal practice. In class, I get to try new things, meet new people, and push myself to the limits. Many yoga studios have offers for new students, for example the first class is 50% off or you get unlimited weekly practice for a certain price. This is a great way for a travelling yogi to try different styles and studios (often in a language you don’t understand at all).

I didn’t have a backpack from before, and I wanted to buy a good one for the trip. After a bit of research, I opted for the canadian generic Misoprostol no prescription. It was a great choice; 40 l was the perfect size to fit everything I wanted to bring with me. The detachable 15 l daypack was also a great addition. It just fit my computer and camera so I could use it as hand luggage — it was also easy to carry around while exploring cities.

The countries I visited don’t require visas, but for USA I had to fill out an ESTA (Electronic System for Travel Authorization).

I was spending Halloween in New York, and wanted to invest in a cool Halloween outfit. Americans have a habit of spending hundreds of dollars on Halloween outfits that get worn once — but luckily someone else can wear those outfits after their initial use! While in Boston, I visited canadian pharmacy Misoprostol, a three story costume store with both new and used clothes and props. I also visited some second hand stores while in Boston and bought a couple of items. While in Germany, I bought a festive top to wear to the cheap Misoprostol no prescription.

Clothes at a second hand store 22,95 €
Shirt for wedding 7 €
In addition to the mentioned items, I used train station toilets, gave money to street musicians, checked my coat at Carnegie Hall, printed some flight tickets and hotel reservations at an internet café and bought things like contact lens solution and an adapter, all of which added up to 26,70 €.
Total cost of miscellaneous things 261,60 €
In my travel budget, I didn’t count the bus to the airport in Helsinki, or the gifts I had bought in Finland to bring to my Couchsurfing hosts.
In total, 83 days on the road cost me 3428,35 €. On average, that is 41,30 € per day. I never felt like I was missing out on something, I saw the sights I wanted to see and experienced everything I wanted (and more!). I’m sure my budget is not even that low. With only hand luggage, more Couchsurfing, cooking your own food and not buying all those clothes, I could have saved a couple of hundred euros. I met someone in Poland, who had been travelling for three years for 5 € a day. When there’s a will, there’s a way. If you want to spend a lot of money while travelling, you can, but if you don’t, you don’t have to.
